A Letter to Myself (and Anyone Else Who Might Need These Words)

Dear You,

There is no point in wasting any more time worrying and overthinking about the future. You’re worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet, and more than likely won’t happen. You have no idea what the future has in store for you and never will until you are in that present moment. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Next year isn’t guaranteed. You can make all the plans you want, but that doesn’t mean they’ll happen. Have goals and dreams. But don’t put so much pressure on them and your ability to achieve them. Take things day by day and moment by moment. Take the steps to achieve your goals, but make sure you’re not mentally skipping any steps (i.e thinking about how you’re gonna pay the rent on an apartment you don’t have with a job you also don’t have). Do what you can.

What matters most is now. This present moment. Not tomorrow, not yesterday, not next month. Right now you are exactly where you are supposed to be. So embrace it. Take full advantage of it, instead of wasting time focusing on the future or dwelling on the past. Trust in the Universe. Have faith in the present moment. Be Here Now.

With love & light,
